This is a huge mic drop for anyone in the debate over “well, we’ve always eaten meat! It’s healthy for us! We’re carnivores!” Are we though? Like really, ARE WE? No. We have the real tea for you FEMPIRE. Heres your mic drop- humans SHOULD be vegan.
I love monkeys, and elephants. Those were always two of my favorite animals growing up. Now, as a vegan adult, do you know what we as humans share in common with those animals? Physically?
You’re probably like well…I have wrinkles…so do elephants? I have hair all over my body…so do monkeys? But it’s actually more than that. I’m about to blow your mind. Hang tight.
Gorillas, elephants, rhinos, bison, horses, and cows are ALL VEGAN. Yes, you read that correctly. The biggest, most bad ass, strongest animals in the WORLD are VEGAN.
Anatomically it looks like we have absolutely nothing in common with these animals, but when we dig a little deeper we’re going to learn some big surprising facts that may or may not shock you.
Have you ever examined your teeth? Or better, have you examined any of the above animal’s teeth? Notice anything similar? How about EVERYTHING. We share the same flat teeth as all of those animals! Why?! Because we as humans like to think of ourselves as omnivorous but truly we’re categorized with the herbivore family.
Mind. Blown.
Now lets compare ourselves to the animals who are TRUE carnivores. Typically these animals have razor sharp claws, and CRAZY sharp teeth! True carnivores jaws will only allow the up and down movement! They don’t have soft fingernails or little baby canines like we do. PETA2, wrote an article about this topic and actually brought up a beautifully solid point. True carnivores love the chase.
They love hunting, and get a thrill from catching and ripping into their prey. That sounds like humans right? Compare that with hangry people waiting for their steak to be cooked and brought directly to the table. Same sort of excited giddy feeling- I think not.
Humans naturally are disgusted by the slaughterhouses and their tactics. No one wants to stand there while a cows throat is slit, or a pig is hanging upside down being gutted. Its repulsive to most of us! As it should be! (1)
Furthermore, think about what happens to people who disagree? Who love and think nothing of abusing an animal? We typically are all in agreement that this human is deranged. (1)
Back to the physical stuff. The real proof hides there.
The Real Proof
So, we talked about the jaw movement of true carnivorous animals, which only will move up and down. True herbivore’s jaws as I’m sure you’re guessing already, moves up and down AND side to side. Which one are we? Go ahead play with your jaw, I know you are already.
We 100% have the movement to go side to side as well as up and down. So whats the point of only having the up and down motion? PETA tells us, “Real carnivores’ jaws move only up and down, requiring them to tear chunks of flesh from their prey and swallow them whole. Humans and other herbivores can move their jaws up and down and from side to side, allowing them to grind up fruit and vegetables with their back teeth.” (1)
Humans also fit perfectly with our flat back molars. Guess what all of those big strong hardcore animals have? Right. Flat back molars. Guess why?
You guessed it, to chew and fully grind down plant based food, typically fibrous plant foods such as leafy greens. “Dr. Richard Leakey, a renowned anthropologist, summarizes, You can’t tear flesh by hand, you can’t tear hide by hand. Our anterior teeth are not suited for tearing flesh or hide. We don’t have large canine teeth, and we wouldn’t have been able to deal with food sources that require those large canines.” (1)
Do We Swallow Whole? Or Do We Chew?
True carnivores GULP their food down. Their teeth are not meant for chewing. Rather, they’re meant for ripping and tearing and they leave the hardest work for their impressive digestive systems to handle all the dirty work. As a result, carnivorous body’s will break down the food FOR them, as well as remove any harmful bacteria. The human body works just as efficiently just in an entirely different way.
The human body contains MUCH less stomach acid and much weaker stomach acid than that of a carnivore. Why is that? Stomach acid isn’t necessary when the body is meant to digest pre-chewed fruits and vegetables!
Are we leaning more one way now? Crazy isn’t it?
The Intestinal Tract
Lets talk intestines. This is another huge proving point that humans indeed ARE herbivores. Our intestines are much LONGER than the intestines of a carnivore. Did you know that?
Carnivore’s have very short intestines! Importantly, because point blank, you don’t want meat sitting and rotting in your intestinal tract longer than it has to be there. Thats how harmful bacterias and diseases can take place. GROSS.
Our much longer intestinal tract is the perfect system for breaking down plant foods. Meat is actually extremely dangerous for humans to eat due to the length of time that it sits in our intestines! “The bacteria in meat have extra time to multiply during the long trip through the digestive system. Meat actually begins to rot while it makes its way through human intestines, which increases the risk of colon cancer. Since we don’t have strong stomach acids like carnivores to kill all the bacteria in meat, dining on animal flesh can also give us food poisoning.” (1)
The US Department of Agriculture confirmed that every year the US alone has more than 48 MILLION cases of food poisoning and 3,000 will die as a result, annually. WILD. (1)
Yet we STILL eat meat.
The Health Standpoint
So if you’ve perused our blog a little, you may have read about some of the common illnesses that meat consuming Americans are suffering from at an exponential rate. All due to the consumption of meat. We hear the words cholesterol, artery clogging, saturated fat, blah blah blah. No one truly knows why these things happen. I’ve heard people say, “Eh it’s just what happens when you get old, theres a pill for everything!”
Not sure about you but I don’t see tigers slammin’ cholesterol medication? Or having bypass surgeries to unclog their arteries of the build up of years of damage from meat consumption? They’d have some mighty busy vets around the world!
Guys, HUMANS ARE NOT MEANT TO EAT MEAT! We are KILLING our bodies. I loved this PETA 2 article, the amount of good sh*t in here is unlimited. I couldn’t just choose one or two quotes, the points were just TOO solid not to share.
“Unlike humans, carnivorous animals in the wild virtually NEVER develop heart disease, cancer, diabetes, strokes, or obesity—ailments that are caused in humans largely by the consumption of the saturated fat and cholesterol found in meat. Studies have shown that even when fed 200 times the amount of animal fat and cholesterol that the average human consumes each day, true carnivores did not develop the hardening of the arteries that leads to heart disease and strokes in humans.” (1)
Humans are not meant for this lifestyle. We are the sickest we’ve ever been, with heart disease as a ferocious killer who through the years has climbed to the NUMBER ONE killer in our country. Meat consumption is the LEADING cause.
But We’ve Always Eaten Meat?
This is always my favorite comment. “But my ancestors ate meat and that was natural and what they did to survive.” Okay, so we’re trying to live like our ancestors? Aside from eating meat, how else are you living like your ancestors. CRICKETS.
Back in the day, our ancestors actually ate YAMS as the bulk of their diet. Yes, yams you read that correctly. If you were of the rich population, you were able to consume meat. “The more frequent addition of modest amounts of meat to the early human diet came with the discovery of fire, which allowed us to lower the risk of being sickened or killed by parasites in meat. This practice didn’t turn our ancestors into carnivores but rather allowed early humans to survive during periods in which plant foods were unavailable.” (1)
Before the 20th century only the wealthy were meat eaters. Meanwhile, the poor were herbivore’s because of the high price tag of meat. However, the wealthy were plagued with disease and obesity that never quite haunted the herbivores. And now here in 2019, we know exactly why!
That concludes our proof FEMPIRE. Meat is CLEARLY not MEANT for humans. Its actually killing us like wildfire every single year. Spread the word, talk to your family and friends about veganism and even picking up one or two days during the week at first to be entirely plant based days. I’ve helped a few people do this throughout the years. It doesn’t have to be a daunting process. Especially when you have a FEMPIRE backing you up with constant support and reassurance.
