Guys, I have a huge HUGE obsession with kitchen appliances. They just make your life so much easier and who doesn’t love that, right? But what are the perfect appliances to have in a vegan kitchen? What will make your plant based lives the easiest? We’re here to help you navigate the appliance game.

The Full List!

The Vitamix

My heart flutters when I even type it out. I’ve had her for 5 years and I STILL get excited every time I turn it on. Guys, this is my FAVORITE kitchen appliance of all time. I LOOK for reasons to talk about it. Before taking the plunge with the Vitamix, I was a Ninja blender owner before I took the plunge and bought this guy and the Ninja was great too but just not THIS great. I still had a lot of grainy-ness in my smoothies, soups, and sauces.

The Vitamix is – LIFE changing. Especially if you’re a vegan because we all know we make most of our meals from scratch including sauces and stews and even smoothies. (yes they count as a meal if you make em’ right) All which require you to have a smooth consistency. I mean it when I tell you this is the MOTHER of all blenders. Game over once you turn this on, she’ll incinerate anything and everything. We use it the most for our smoothies and our favorite vegan mac and cheese recipe! YES, it’s expensive. But I mean it when I tell you its WELL worth it. And don’t overlook their different models, even the refurbished one. You don’t have to spend $600 on the top of the line newest model! Ours is refurbished and we’ve never ever had an issue!

The 11 Cup Cuisinart Food Processor

This is also quite life changing and very quickly becomes a need once you begin your vegan transition. Our favorite use for this is by far making our vegan ricotta cheese. I bust this bad boy out at least once a week to make ricotta whether it’s for pizza, pasta, or just dipping crackers with friends as an app – it’s definitely one of my favorite appliances that I own.

This comes with a few different blades and attachments all for your vegan convenience! A shredding disc (perfect for shredding potatoes, carrots, any veggie you want), a slicing disc (again perfect for slicing veggies of any kid in perfectly even slices. Think food prepping) and the chopping blade (for chopping, mixing, combining, or rough chopping!) They have other attachments that you can add to your food processor like a dough blade if you’re a fan of making your own bread or baked goods, and they even have a storage case for all the blades which we HIGHLY recommend getting because they’re damn SHARP. Especially if you have littles in and around your kitchen!

**We also want to mention the size. I was torn a few years back when I purchased this between the 9 cup vs the 11 cup and looking back I’m totally glad I went with the bigger one! You can do a lot more with it, and most recipes actually will call for the 11 cup food processor! Ex- I made mini vegan meatloaves for Thanksgiving last year and would have DIED without this!

The Aroma 6 Cup Rice Cooker –

This little guy though. SO affordable and SO bomb. We actually have two of these because Lynn isn’t a huge quinoa fan (and I am – so naturally I make her eat it too, happy wife happy life right?) So I’ll make brown rice in one and quinoa in the other and mix the two together for bowls during the week. If you’re rice cooking challenged…I feel you. So am I. I’ve RUINED pans before cooking rice. Everyone always tells me – it’s so easy! How can you ruin your pan?! Not sure homegirl. BUT it happened one too many times. I took a shot in the dark with this, less than $20 you CANT go wrong.

I’ve never owned a fancy rice cooker and honestly I probably never will because these little guys have totally proven their strength. I WILL suggest though, putting a dishtowel underneath the rice cooker because it does spit starchy water and that’s just a pain in the butt to clean up. In our opinion anyway. Also, quinoa REALLY creates a lot of starchy bubbles for some reason so for a few minutes of the cooking time I’ll prop the cover up a little bit with a wooden spoon. Again, just a helpful hint – its what we do. See what works for you! But we’ll never use another rice cooker. These are just too bomb and we can’t rave about them more!

Something else cool about this? Its MULTI – PURPOSED! Yes! For this price it cooks MORE than just rice! It also includes a steaming basket perfect for quick cooking veggies and also a rice spatula! We’ve actually had many people comment on the spatula (we use it to serve rice) and people love it! Its the little things right? lol!

The Presto FryDaddy Electric Deep Fryer –

Yes, you need this. Click the link, make the purchase and thank us later! No, it’s not an air fryer (yes that’s healthier we know, and we’re okay with that)- this sh*t is the real deal people. It’s LITTLE, and it will ROCK your world. We’ve made killer fried tofu, changed the tater tot and onion ring game entiiiirely, and we’ve totally been known to go on a fried dough kick too. Hey it’s vegan, right?

This little guy heats up in a flash, makes dinner a SINCH, and tofu haters rejoice because all y’all will be loving fried tofu! It’s fried! How bad could it be right?! I was actually pleasantly surprised by the size, its small but it DOES fit a lot of food in there. I mean you’ll definitely have to do batches at a time, but you’ll be surprised at how much will fit in there! It holds 4 cups of cooking oil, there is no temperature gauge, just a plug and a little light telling you it’s on. I’ll stick the end of a wooden spoon in there to see if the oil is hot enough for cooking! Again, be careful with the littles around this, the outside gets very hot! You WON’T be disappointed with this!

The Very Best CAST IRON PAN!

My best friend in the whole world gave me my very first cast iron pan, and it rocks. She was surprised I didn’t already have one, but the truth? I have no idea how to use it, always felt like there were a lot of rules with them whether it was cooking and which oil to use, or cleaning and never use soap? I don’t know, I just steered away because I figured I’d forget something and ruin yet ANOTHER pan. BUT….I was SO wrong you guys. We LOVE this pan. Even my love enjoys cooking with this pan!

Our favorite thing to use this for? Our “breakfast for dinner” nights. We make such a yummy tofu egg skillet and we use this pan every time. I’ve made potato hashes and all kinds of veggie skillets with it. And honestly, it’s EASY to use and hello if soap isn’t involved HOW hard can the clean up really be? Olive oil, salt, and a scrub brush! Magic. You NEED a cast iron pan!

The Breville Juice Fountain Plus –

It’s only fair to add this on here. No, you do not NEED a juicer as a vegan. Definitely not. I’d rather you personally get a blender because I think they can be used for more than just smoothies in the kitchen. Whereas juicers are good for one thing – juicing. BUT juicing is a magical part of being vegan. It brings out glowing skin, regulates our bodies, gives us natural spikes in energy. And in the summertime, there’s NOTHING like fresh juice.

After watching Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead by Joe Cross on Netflix (if you haven’t seen it, go watch it stat) I decided I needed to try the juicing thing first hand. This man was ridden with anxiety, and disease and overall his health wasn’t good. He was able to turn it around and live medication FREE, all because he started juicing! It was just amazing.

Definitely a few things to note, you’ll need A LOT of produce to juice. To make one juice? No. But to do it every day – yes. What I normally do is juice in big batches typically in the summer when I can use fresh farm produce. People do juice year round, this is a me problem lol! I only really gravitate towards my juicer in the summertime. There are a few parts to this machine it’s not as straight forward as your standard blender. Worth it absolutely, but use my advice and juice in batches and utilize your freezer! It’s totally totally worth the investment – you can impress all your friends with your fresh juices (everyone goes nutty for fresh orange juice! Think BRUNCH)
