Veganism In The Bathroom

Vegan bowel movements – what can you expect? What’s normal and what’s not?

What does being vegan have to do with the bathroom? Truth is we just want to help you revamp your bathroom decor because chances are you’ll be in there a little more often than you’re used to. At least, at first!

A lot of people think that when you go vegan you’ll be in the bathroom – ALL the time poopin’ kale stems and sh*t.

At first, the increase in fiber from your whole food plant-based diet will cause an increase in the number of times you use the bathroom for sure, BUT we swear it’s a really good thing!

What IS regular and am I regulated?

According to Medical News Today, people can pass stool up 3 times per day and a minimum of 3 times per week. So there definitely is a huge fluctuation there!

How do you know if YOU’RE normal?

So there are many factors to knowing if you’re vegan bowel movements are normal. Texture and consistency are one, smell is two, pain-free to pass is three, and consistency is four!

Medical News Today describes the ideal texture and consistency as, “Poop that is passed in one single piece or a few smaller pieces is typically considered to be a sign of a healthy bowel. The long, sausage-like shape of poop is due to the shape of the intestines.”

A healthy bowel movement will have a strong odor as it is eliminating toxins in the body and should be completely pain-free to pass.

So Where Does Veganism Come In?

Eating a plant-based diet will ensure an increase in fiber and also water! Most fruits and veggies are chock full of water!

Both of those factors will lead you to healthier more frequent bowel movements.

You’ll find when you’re regulated and experiencing healthy bowel movements the consistency will be more accurate.

For example, you’ll find either an every morning bathroom trip becoming your norm, and maybe another after work! You’ll get into your own groove!

It’s simple, more whole plant-based foods = healthier more frequent bowel movements!

Even as a vegan there’s ONE huge helper to ensure healthy bowels and bowel movements aside from a healthy vegan diet – PROBIOTICS!

YAS.

Vegan Probiotics = Healthy Vegan Bowels!

It’s true! So what are probiotics and why do we need them?

Probiotics are bacteria, but rather than thinking EW – think – they’re the GOOD guys, the GOOD kind of bacteria!

The kind of bacteria that gives our inflamed bodies relief and helps to stop diarrhea, and help immensely with constipation.

They’re MAGIC for our bodies!

The BEST Vegan Probiotics EVER

If you’ve stopped by our blog before you’ll know how much we love Mary Ruth Organics as an overall vitamin and supplement company. We personally take MANY of their supplements daily and they’ve truly changed our lives.

We have an entire article dedicated to vegan vitamins – and we list all of our favorites! They’re a mother-daughter dynamic duo and everything they create is vegan – and INCREDIBLE. I have felt an effect from every single product I’ve tried.

This one is no exception! We’ve recently added Mary Ruth Organics Liquid Probiotic to our everyday regime and we’ve been LOVING it!

I’ve experienced a huge increase in energy and in my bathroom trips overall! These probiotics also claim to help lower cholesterol for those just transitioning to a vegan diet!

Newbies should ABSOLUTELY use a probiotic as your body is adjusting to an entirely new lifestyle and these will help it along the way more efficiently!

Say Goodbye To Bloating!!

Before starting to take this probiotic I used to experience bloating pretty frequently. Like the kind of bloating where you want to live in a flowy sundress for the rest of your life.

Now after introducing this magical stuff to my body – no more bloating! I haven’t had one single day where I’ve felt bloated. Literally – not ONE!

It’s become such an important part of my day and I feel and notice a huge difference if I stop taking it regularly.

We truly truly couldn’t recommend this enough to ANY vegan and ANY human. Vegan or not. Everyone could use a probiotic to help their body’s work more efficiently!
